Henry Raspe (German: Heinrich Raspe; c. 1204 – 16 February 1247) was the Landgrave of Thuringia from 1231 until 1239 and again from 1241 until his death. In 1246, with the support of the Papacy, he was elected King of Germany in opposition to Conrad IV, but his contested reign lasted a mere nine months.

Elisabeth of Brandenburg, Landgravine of Thuringia

Elisabeth of Brandenburg (c. 1206 – 1231) a member of the House of Ascania. She was a Margravine of Brandenburg by birth and by marriage Landgravine of Thuringia.

She was the daughter of Margrave Albert II of Brandenburg and his wife Matilda of Groitzsch, the daughter of Landgrave Conrad II of Lusatia from the House of Wettin.

In 1228, she married Landgrave Henry Raspe of Thuringia, the later anti-king of Germany. The marriage remained childless.

Elisabeth died in 1231, at the age of 25, after three years of marriage. After her death, Henry married Gertrude of Babenberg and after Gertrude's death to Beatrice of Brabant. All three of his marriages were childless and after his death, the Emperor enfeoffed Thuringia to Henry III, the son of Henry Raspe's sister Jutta.

Gertrud von Babenberg

Gertrud von Babenberg (* ca. 1210/15; † 1241) war Landgräfin von Thüringen.

Sie wurde als Tochter von Herzog Leopold VI. von Österreich und Steiermark und dessen byzantinischer Gemahlin Theodora Angeloi geboren. Gertrud war eines von sieben Kindern, ihr Bruder war Friedrich II. von Österreich und ihre Schwester Margarethe wurde Gemahlin des deutschen Thronfolgers Heinrich VII. und erste Gemahlin des böhmischen Königs Ottokar II. Přemysl.

Im Jahre 1238 wurde sie mit Heinrich Raspe, Landgraf von Thüringen und späterem deutschen Gegenkönig, vermählt, nachdem dessen erste Gemahlin Elisabeth von Brandenburg sieben Jahre zuvor nach dreijähriger, kinderloser Ehe gestorben war. Jedoch auch Gertrud starb drei Jahre nach ihrer Eheschließung. Nachdem auch die dritte Ehe Heinrichs mit Beatrix von Brabant kinderlos blieb, belehnte Heinrich seinen Neffen Heinrich, den Sohn seiner Schwester Jutta, mit der Landgrafschaft Thüringen.
